ThinkPad E590 audio: check the package build as well as the version

The E590 types 20NB and 20NC are explicitly listed in Lenovo’s audio package documentation. The E590 specification identifies Synaptics CX11880 audio and different wireless configurations using Realtek RTL8822BE or Intel Wireless-AC 9260. Check the installed device; the presence of both vendors in a download list does not mean both wireless packages are needed.

Lenovo’s Synaptics Audio package DS505903 lists R0YAC26W, version 9.0.285.40. Its README supports Windows 10 64-bit version 1709 or later and Windows 11 version 21H2 or later. This package’s OS list should not replace checking the computer’s own operating-system support.

The README history uses the same driver version, 9.0.285.40, for R0YAC25W and R0YAC26W, with separate entries for adding Windows 11 support and updating SynaAPO. A version-number match alone therefore does not identify the downloaded build or its documented changes. Compare the package identifier and README as well as the Synaptics Audio Driver Version in Device Manager. Our download-page guide explains these identifiers, date labels and checksum checks.

For this package, Lenovo allows an overwrite update and specifies an administrator account and a restart after installation. The separate uninstallation section is not a requirement to remove Dolby or Synaptics components before every update. Use the selected package’s installation section rather than treating its removal procedure as routine preparation.

Official sources checked 3 October 2026. The R0YAC26W README issue date is 11 April 2022; Lenovo’s download listing records 15 April 2022 as the file release date. These historical dates are separate from this page’s content update, which adds no new driver records.
