- Confirm the computer and current BIOS: Check the full model name and record the installed BIOS version in Windows System Information. Back up important data before proceeding; compare the current version with the official package README.
- Check the package before downloading: Lenovo document DS502425 lists E41-25 and E41-35 with Windows 10 (64-bit). The documented 7UCN30WW package, released February 1, 2021, cannot boot a Legacy OS. Read the current compatibility notes and instructions before deciding whether to install it.
- Prepare: Record changed BIOS settings and follow the package’s power requirements. Lenovo’s BIOS update guidance calls for reliable power and a fully charged laptop battery. DS502425 uses a Windows installer, without a required Rufus/USB boot step.
- Run the supported Windows installer only if applicable: If Lenovo’s instructions confirm that this package applies to your system, open 7ucn30ww.exe, confirm the target BIOS and platform, and follow the wizard. Do not interrupt power or manually restart while it flashes.
- Finish as instructed: The utility reboots automatically. Follow Lenovo’s package-specific instructions for loading defaults, then shutting down and disconnecting AC after the completed flash.
Note: Updating the BIOS is a critical process and if not done correctly, it can cause serious problems with your computer. Make sure that your laptop is connected to a stable power source and that there are no interruptions during the BIOS update process.
